Separate from the Japan Automobile Research Institute(JARI); named the Electric Vehicle Promotion Center.
Changed name ー April 1, 2009.
Obtained corporate status as a general incorporated association and changed name to what it is today.

Contribute to the implementation of Japan’s energy and environmental policies by promoting vehicles with superior energy and environmental performance.
